Recipe: DIY Toothpaste

with just 3 simple ingredients!

  • Baking Soda (Refillable at any package-free store)
  • Coconut Oil (Refillable at any package-free store)
  • Essential Oil such as Peppermint, Spearmint, or Thieves oil blend

Ratio 1 : 1 and add 10 drops of any EO choice

Mix all ingredients in a small bowl with a teaspoon or tablespoon until paste-like. Transfer into a small jar with an opening big enough for you to dip your toothbrush in. Use within 2 weeks.

Make your own toothpaste with 3 simple ingredients: baking soda, extra virgin coconut oil, and peppermint essential oil

Simply dip your toothbrush into the jar and brush as usual. It takes a bit of getting used to as you don’t get the bubble and foamy effect with this formula. As with anything, I would say just try with an open mind and see how you feel about it.

Whenever I run out of toothpaste, it will just take me less than a minute to make one. How awesome is that? Since you took the time to read up to this point, I will also share this with you. From time to time, I would do oil pulling with just coconut oil to remove the nasties in between my teeth and for natural whitening. Just pour a mouthful of coconut oil (the same amount as you would for mouthwash) and swish it for 15 to 20 minutes. Spit it out. I would do so before I jump into my shower and swish it during the course of showering. I have been spitting the oil into the basin and toilet bowl. None of them are choked just yet. Spit it out into a bin if you are worried about clogging your sink.

Give this a go and let me know how it goes! Leave a reply below.
